The Crossed T's Cattle Company began operation in 1982 because of Dan Tisdale's fascination with the Longhorn breed of cattle.
Dan first was introducted to Longhorn cattle by a magazine left behind in the waiting area where he had his truck serviced. Dan began talking with the station owner about his cattle, and learned about the features of Longhorn cattle that make the breed special. Not just the regal nature of the cattle themselves and the western heritage of the breed - but how birth weight, disease resistance, and long breeding life of the protective momma cow set Longhorn cattle apart from all other breeds of cattle.
Dan was fascinated by the different colors and personalities of the individual animals, and the fact that often the cows were able to successfuly calve when then were fifteen or twenty years old.
In 1986, Dan was faced with a career path change, and he decided to
"Go Longhorn" full-time. He quickly became "the one to call" to have Longhorns hauled, both short and long distances. His safety record is perfect, without injury to a single cow and without a delay in promised delivery date (except when weather or other serious reason forced a change of plans).
Dan also began raising and breeding his own prize-winning Longhorns, as he knows the blood lines and pedigrees as few others do.
He loves the cattle and enjoys other breeders as friends and customers. Dan loves to educate new breeders, and always has time to look at anyone else's herd or to discuss their programs.
"Any time, any place" is not just the motto for Dan's animal transportation business, but is also Dan's philosophy for visiting with current, past, and future Longhorn Breeders.
